Since Street Fighter 4 hit consoles, the number of streamed events/tournaments has increased drastically, aided by the advent of sites such as Justin.tv and Ustream.tv.
It can take a while for the replays of these tournaments to be uploaded, so listed below are some of the major upcoming streamed fighting game tournaments/events.
• Barfights II (Sunday, October 11th 5:00PM PST/8PM EST)
The sequel to Gootecks’ popular Barfights event. Not to be confused with a regular tournament, Barfights is an event which aims to showcase top level play, evidenced by the “main event,” which is the Team East Coast (Emp Arc) vs. Team West Coast grudge match that never happened at EVO (since WC got eliminated by wildcard). The favorites seem to be East Coast, but anything can happen.
• Season’s Beatings 4 (Friday, October 16th-Sunday, October 18th)
Season’s Beatings 4 will follow the 3-day tournament standard and will feature games such as SF3:3s, SF4, HDR, MVC2, BB, and more. Probably the most hyped part of the tournament is the fact that Daigo Umehara, EVO’s Street Fighter 4 champion and legend, is being flown out to Ohio to participate in the tournament, as well as first-to-ten side event against Justin Wong. You won’t want to miss any of that.
• Battlefield Arcadia #7 (Sunday, November 1st)
The 7th part of Empire Arcadia’s ongoing tournament series, BA #7 will be unique since it will be one of the first Tekken 6 tournaments in the NYC area. Another event will be the Marvel vs. Capcom 2 “Battle of the Gods,” which was previewed at Battlefield Arcadia #6. Unfortunately, BlazBlue will evidently not be apart of any future BA events, due to the low turnout for the tournaments. It is also rumored that Justin Wong will be using Rose for the Street Fighter 4 tournament at BA#7, so this is also a definite must-see.
This post will updated the days of the tournaments to include the stream links, so keep this one bookmarked!
